DT Play Day - Scyofbc

Dedicated to improving the well-being of children and youth in British Columbia

Child and Youth Friendly Communities Program

The aims of the CYFC program are to support youth in becoming active participants in the development of their communities, and to ensure local governance decision making and city planning includes youth input. Our current work includes:

Play and School Streets

Both Play and School Streets are interventions promoting school active travel and community development, temporarily transforming select streets into thriving public spaces.

Walking School Bus

SCY works with BC communities to bring Walking School Busses to their schools, connecting students across ages and providing a safe school travel solution.

Urban Explorers

Urban Explorers offers citizenship and sustainability education through a place and project-based curriculum, where young people partake in real-world problem-solving for their community.

Work With Us To Make Your Community More Child and Youth Friendly

We also conduct child and youth engagement and provide consulting services for municipalities or businesses. Here are a few recent samples of our work.

Contact us to inquire about how SCY can help make your community more child and youth friendly.
