Carlie (she/her) comes to SCY with a background in child and youth care. She has 8 years of child and youth work experience while employed by not-for-profit organizations. She’s had the honour of serving the community in various roles, most recently of which was working as a Youth Care Counsellor in a residential setting.
Carlie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Sociology from the University of Guelph. In addition to holding an advanced diploma in Child and Youth Care from the Humber College Institute of Technology. She works from a person-centered/strength-based approach with a focus on both trauma-informed care and harm-reduction strategies. Her belief that individuals are the experts on their own lives, aligns with SCY’s vision of a British Columbia where children and youth are seen, heard, and valued.
